The NORCAL PFOA will implement NPPL rules modified for all divisions. This will be a Capped 15 bps Semi-Automatic markers only. No Sideline Coaching will be allowed, Each Team will play at least 6-8 games, in the prelims, depending on amount of teams entered in the Event. After prelims, the teams will play a seeding playoff system with the winners advancing to the next round.

GAME PLAY- All members of a team will start at opposing GATES. All Barrels must be TOUCHING the netting of the gate. The Head Reff on the field will begin each game with a ten second warning and yell...."Game on!" The games are timed according to each division. The game will end when a player who has not been eliminated, successfully hangs the flag to their GATE. Or when the time limit has ended. Only when a Field Reff has yelled "Game Over" will the game be officially over. Gates will be selected after a coin toss, only one player may call the flip. For Semis and Finals there will be only one coin toss at the beginning of the "best of three" games. Teams will switch sides after a coin toss has occurred. GEAR/CLOTHES- Players must wear a long sleeve shirt/jersey and long pants/paintball pants. Players must wear full face protection as it comes from the manufacturer in its original form. Players may wear elbow, knee, and slider(hip) protection as long as it is not modified from its original form. Such protection may be worn over or under clothing. Male players may wear groin protection and female players may wear Torso Protection. Only the Young Guns Division may wear Torso protection if wanted. Head gear may only be two layers. Over padded head gear is not allowed. All Players are allowed to wear a non padded rag/bandanna around their neck if wanted. Players must wear clothing that fits well ( only one layer of clothing allowed under uniform) and is NOT Oversized. Baggy clothing will not be allowed. Players must not have their jerseys hangout during game play, the bod pack must be visible at all times. Any other clothing issues will be a the discretion of the head reff.
3man Young Guns:
The Young Guns Division is a Great division for the paintballers of our future. This division is a division for the youth to test their skills, learn team work, learn new skills, all while having a great fun time with their friends. This division is strictly for those ages 11-16. Proof of age is required to play in this Division. This mean a BIRTH CERTIFICATE is REQUIRED at your first event. Young Guns cannot have played in ANY other tournaments prior to this season other than a Young Guns Division. If you will be turning 17 years old this year, and as long as you have completed at least one event in the PFOA this season, you may continue to play in the Young Guns Division.
3man Beginners:
For those of you who are older than 16years of age, and have never played a tournament season before..this is the division for you! This division is a lot of Fun, yet has great compition too. To qualify as a Beginner, your first tournament was no more than one year prior to the event that you are registering for. Beginners may NOT have participated in ANY major 7man events, and a maximum of two LOCAL 5man events. Beginners must NOT have participated in ANY MAJOR Events such as PSP, USPL, WCPPL, CFOA, etc. If your year limit should expire during the season, as long as you have completed at least one PFOA event this season, you will be allowed to continue for the remainder of the season as a Beginner, just as long who have not played two or more higher divisions this season. Beginners must move on to Rookie Division the following season.
5man D-5 and D-4:
This is where the NORCAL's Finest come and play. The 5man Division is a highly competitive division where teams show great sportsmanship to all those around. If you and your team plan on playing in the bigger national venues, this is the division to see where you stack among NORCAL's Finest teams. To qualify as a Rookie (D5), you must be ranked nationally D5 or lower. You may qualify as a rookie for no more than 2 seasons, once who have played a higher division for two or more events, you no longer qualfiy as a Rookie D5 player.
To qualify as D-4, you must be ranked nationally D4 or lower. Once who have played a higher division for two or more events, you no longer qualfiy as a D4 player.
The NORCAL PFOA takes the matter of "sandbagging" very serious, and will NOT tolerate it. We do review players history as do the players. Players and or Teams found to be in violation of these Classification rules will be disqualfied. There are NO Refunds.
Reclassification:
All reclassifacation matters must be emailed to us at info@norcalpfoa.com. These matters are reviewed on a case by case basis. The NORCAL PFOA does reserve the right to reclassify any player based on the league's discretion. Players request must be emailed two weeks before the the event. We may wish to speak to you on the matter. Request emailed after the two week deadline will NOT be allowed.
The NORCAL PFOA asks all those that participate in the events, to remember to be good examples to all those around, especially the younger generation paintballers. To have the utmost highest sportsmanship, please remember we are all one BIG Family here in NORCAL, and that this sport is represented by you the players. A Few Rule Clarifications from things that came up during event #1:
+After a flag pull the flag must remain in the players hand in clear view at all times.
+If a player is shot with the flag they must put there gun down and hold the flag up in the air in place until it is taken by another player
